Healthy Communities through a Just Transition to 100% clean, renewable and zero-emission energy sources

As the state looks to implement the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, we will fight to ensure that there is just transition so that all people of Illinois have access to 100% clean, renewable energy, Free Public Transit, Clean Transportation, Clean Air, Clean Water and Clean land. We call for this to be achieved through investments in public infrastructure, especially retrofitting our public housing and schools to energy efficient and carbon-free.

Green Union Jobs for All Workers

We need to ensure that workers are at the forefront of making this just transition, especially workers in impacted industries. To build, educate, care and develop thriving communities we need a just transition to guarantee well paying union jobs, to win stronger labor rights for all, with thriving-family sustaining wages, and ensure fair hiring practices to all Black and Brown Folks.

Defund Extractive & Exploitive systems, Invest in a Care Economy

We will fight to dismantle neoliberal capitalism that relies on systems of oppression and extraction for profit. We believe in funding reparative investments by taxing the wealthy and defunding systems of extraction and violence (policing, polluters, military), and begin to make the shift towards channeling funds to pay for social services like Public Housing and Schools, Healthcare, and Childcare for All.

Human Rights for All beyond borders

We acknowledge that the United States was built on racist exploitation of Black, Indigenous, Immigrants, and People of Color. We will fight to ensure that a Just Transition benefits all, no matter their Race, Ethnicity, Gender Identity, Social Class, or Sexuality. We seek to ensure that our just transition to renewable energy isn’t reliant on replicating imperialist exploitation and extraction of materials in the global south. These fights include Immigration, Racial, and LGBTQIA Justice. We demand housing, healthcare and citizenship for all.
OUR PLAN TO WIN
We win the narrative through direct action and political education to mobilize the public to support our goals.

We develop leadership from impacted communities, youth, and workers through education and training programs focused on leadership, advocacy and political education.

We uplift worker voices to create and execute just transition plans that bring union jobs, robust re-training opportunities, and workplace protections to the workers helping transition our energy sector, build our retrofitted public housing, transport our goods and services, teach our kids, care for our elders and sick, serve & stock our food, and build our EV transportation fleets. All jobs should be good, green and union!

We take direct action to pressure elected officials and candidates to pass Green New Deal initiatives in their respective legislative bodies.
